A Call to All Teen Filmmakers

Reel Teens is proud to announce the winners of this year's video competition sponsored by Reality Check. The competition focused upon how the cigarette companies are trying to manipulate teens into smoking cigarettes.

Prizes included $1000 for first place, $500 for second place, and $250 for third place. The three winning videos will be put onto a DVD and sent to every high school in New York State for educational purposes.

  • The winner is “Brainwashed” by William Galperin from Rye , New York
  • Second place went to “Smoking in the Movies” by Robert Frenay from Syracuse , New York
  • The third place winner is “King of the Media” by Davis Seekamp from Accord, New York

Please note:

The guidelines for this competition were very specific. A great many entries received were anti-smoking PSA's which was not what this competition was all about. Those PSA's will be entered into the 2007 Reel Teens Festival.
